To ensure that local residents have input into solid waste issues, the legislation that created Indiana’s solid waste management districts requires that each district maintain a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).
The CAC must include representatives of the solid waste management industry, the environmental community, and other concerned citizens knowledgeable about and interested in environmental issues and not employed by the solid waste management industry.
The Hendricks County Recycling District is fortunate to have an active and knowledgeable CAC that meets regularly. In addition to providing valuable feedback regarding the District’s annual budget, the Committee also reviews grant requests the District receives and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the funding of those grants.
Currently, the District’s Citizens Advisory Committee is made up of the following members:
Justin Buster, Waste Management
Calvin Davidson, Ray’s Trash Service
Ed Gaddie, Interested Citizen
Mark Howell, Xenon Geosciences
Jeff Healy, Banning Engineering
Marcia Lynch, Interested Citizen
Beverley Stafford, Interested Citizen
